Frequently Asked Questions

What is the mission of NAMI CDA?

NAMI CDA is dedicated to providing support and education for individuals affected by mental illness. We strive to promote mental health awareness and advocate for better mental health policies in our community.

Can NAMI CDA give me or my loved one a diagnosis?

No.  We don't give diagnoses or recommend specific modalities of treatment, but we do provide support to people who have been affected by mental illness and can share community resources that are available.

Are there support groups for families and friends of those who struggle with mental illness?

Yes!  Our Family Support group meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 6-7 p.m. PT at the Disability Action Center, 3726 E Mullan Ave. in Post Falls, Idaho.

Supporting family members, friends and loved ones of those who struggle with a mental illness is extremely important. Learning how to manage how your loved one's mental illness affects your own life will ultimately help them, too.

This free, confidential family support group reminds you that you are not alone in feeling worry, frustration or compassion fatigue.  You will gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar experiences.
